Speaker’s Background:

Fr. Bill Zamborsky was born on July 23, 1948 (the last year the Cleveland Indians {now the Guardians} won the World Series) in Cleveland, Ohio.  He is the third of eight children (four boys and four girls) born to George and Angela Zamborsky.  He is proud to be named after his maternal grandfather, Inspector William J. “Bill” Davis of the Oakland, CA Police Department who was killed in the line of duty – End of Watch, January 5,1928.

At the age of 14, Fr. Bill left home to attend Borromeo High School Seminary in Cleveland, Ohio to begin studies for the priesthood.  After graduating from high school and then from Borromeo College Seminary, he attended St. Meinrad Seminary in southern Indiana where he earned his M.Div. He was ordained to the priesthood for the Diocese of Orlando, FL on June 1, 1974.

Fr. Bill has committed a great deal of time and effort to Marriage Encounter, a substantial energy to Retrouvaille, and a noteworthy participation in Cursillo.  He also served as Newman chaplain at Stetson University in DeLand, FL during his diaconate and first three years of priesthood.  While being richly blessed in all these ministries, Fr. Bill has always considered himself “just a parish priest” which is where his heart resides and his joy is found.  He is constantly trying to balance the scale of priestly life having received far more from the people of God (the Church, his spouse) than he has given to them.

Fr. Bill is currently pastor of Our Lady of the Springs Catholic Church in Ocala, FL and of St. Joseph of the Forest Catholic Mission in Silver Springs, FL.

Fr. Bill is not only a fisher of men; he is not too bad with the fish either!
